Thousands Expected To Turn Out For Potter Finale In London

Warner Bros. has arranged with the city of London to stage the red-carpet premier of the final Harry Potter movie on July 7 in Trafalgar Square, where thousands of Potter fans are likely to gather. The film, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows — Part 2 , will be screened afterwards in nearby Leicester Square. In a statement, Boris Johnson, the mayor of London, said “For the last decade we’ve been gripped by the on-screen battle between Harry Potter and his arch enemy Lord Voldemort and this is one of the most eagerly awaited films in history. As befits a great British triumph, I can think of no better venue than the iconic surroundings of Trafalgar Square in which to stage the most spectacular of send offs for this dramatic finale.” The film is due to open in the U.S. and the U.K. on July 15.
