Ms Bridget Gordon, Ablekuma North Constituency Women’s Organiser of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), on Tuesday called on members and supporters of the party to remain loyal and focus on the Better Ghana Agenda.

She said the political blue print of President John Evans Atta Mills was the vehicle that could ensure the socio-economic development of the country and facilitate the electoral victory of the NDC in the 2012 General Election.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Accra, Ms Gordon said her constituency was being swayed by a divisive agenda of some leading figures of the party that was undermining the cohesion, integration and unity of purpose needed to promote the policies of the government to enable the electorate to appreciate the progress the NDC was making to develop the country. “Without letting the cat out I can say on authority that there are certain faceless people who are pursuing certain interests and objectives which are inimical to the interest of the party and the better Ghana Agenda.”

She said who ever was serving on the executive of the party in the constituency should appreciate the fact that he or she represents the wishes and aspirations of the NDC at the grassroot and must therefore be above reproach. “The declaration of 2011 as an action year by the President calls for all hands on deck and any deviation from this clarion call would eventually spell the doom of the NDC.

“It is in the best interest of the party to stay on course and act with self discipline and maturity to achieve the greater course of placing Ghana where it must be,” she said.
