Tottenham’s Jermain Defoe has sustained an ankle injury while training with the club in Dubai.
The striker, who’s previously missed two months this season with ankle ligament damage, is another name added to Harry Redknapp’s mounting injury list which includes six key first-team players.
Tottenham’s next outing is a trip to Wolves in the Premier League and without Defoe, Redknapp only has Peter Crouch and Roman Pavlyuchenko in his striking ranks.
“Defoe has an injury again” said Redknapp.
“He’s had a problem with his ankle before and it didn’t feel too good.
“We’re trying to finish in the top four and it’s so close, but we’ve got so many players injured.
“We’ve got Tom Huddlestone, Younes Kaboul, Ledley King, Jonathan Woodgate, Gareth Bale, Rafael Van der Vaart.
“If you could pick a team of injured players it would be a fantastic line-up.”
