Taiwan will ease restrictions on investments from China, a move that could see significant funds injected into its technology sector.
Chinese companies will be allowed to buy as much as a 10% stake in Taiwanese technology companies, according to a proposal by the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
Investors will also be allowed to hold a 50% stake in new joint ventures.
This follows a partial lifting of a ban on investments from China in 2009.
The changes to investment policy are expected to be announced in the next few days.
