The show will go on for American Idol contestant Casey Abrams. The singer, who made season 10’s top 24 on Thursday’s show, was reportedly hospitalized after suffering severe stomach pains on Wednesday but is now out of the hospital and expected to hit the stage during Friday’s taping of the top 12 men’s performances, PEOPLE confirms.
“He is performing tonight,” a source close to the show tells PEOPLE. “He had some stomach pains but he will perform.”
The bar has been set high for Abrams, the first contestant in Idol history to perform with a upright bass, after he wowed the judges throughout the audition process.
