He’s famous for his method approach to acting, so one can only imagine what Christian Bale’s next role will be.
Arriving in LA last night ahead of Sunday’s Oscars ceremony, it looks as though the actor has taken his craft to a whole new level as he appears to have grown his very own red carpet.
The hot-tempered actor’s scraggly facial hair has taken on a life of its own and the British star looked more like a tramp that an A-list hunk.

But the actor, who’s up for a Best Supporting Actor award for his portrayal of boxing trainer Dickie Eklund in The Fighter, looked blissfully unconcerned over his down-and-out appearance as he strolled through the airport.

It wouldn’t be the first time Bale has come in for stick over his looks.
The outspoken 37-year-old recently launched a four-letter tirade at commentators who dared to criticise his recent weight-loss for his role as crack addicted Eklund in the film.

Speaking to the Australian edition of Empire magazine, the actor was
quoted as saying he wanted to ‘p*** on the shoes’ of a critic who wrote
about his ‘trademark weight loss’ acting.
He said: ‘To be honest, I find it laughable that it’s considered to be some
f****** gimmick – it’s so patronizing.
‘For God’s sake, do people not understand what a pain it is to do?

‘It’s as though it’s some comment about, “Oh it’s easy for him, because he’s
done it a bunch of times”.
‘It’s not easy, it’s not fun – it’s horrible.’
Bale, who famously had an on-set meltdown filming Terminator:
Salvation and also a real-life falling out with his mother and sister,
has previously lost weight for his roles in the films The Machinist and
Rescue Dawn.
