Hon Adjaho was provoked by Dr Nduom’s criticism of a ruling he delivered on Wednesday, February 23, on the matter of proposed amendments to the petroleum revenue management bill.
Hon Adjaho had struck out a proposal by four Minority MPs endorsing the request by chiefs in the Western Region that ten per cent of revenues from the commercial production of oil should be reserved for the development of the region.
The Member of Parliament for Ave-Avenor said the request could not be met because it contravenes some sections of Parliament’s Standing Order Act, citing Standing Order 122(b) and 128 IV (b).
However, Dr. Nduom, who is a former Member of Parliament for Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem criticized the Ave Avenor MP’s ruling, saying there was no such rule.
In a scathing reaction to Dr. Nduom’s criticism in an exclusive interview with Citi News parliamentary correspondent Richard Sky, Mr Adjaho said Dr Nduom made no meaningful contribution when he was a member of the legislature and does not have the moral right to criticize his decision since.
“Ordinarily I would not respond to Nduom. I have never seen him as a serious politician when he was in Parliament. In any case what has been his parliamentary debate for the four years that he remained in Parliament? If he wants to play politics he should go ahead and play politics but he should not drag me into his politics…I don’t know what Nduom is talking about, maybe he is confused, he should go back and read his Standing Orders”.
