Head coach Dieter Hecking will have to make do without the services of star attacker Julian Schieber when his men take on the Koenigsblauen as the promising striker has picked up a knee injury.
According to a report in Bild, the 22-year-old attacker sustained the knock during Thursday’s training session. Schieber immediately left the training pitch to undergo further examination and a scan has revealed meniscus damage to his left knee.
Schieber will undergo surgery on Monday and will be unavailable for an estimated six weeks as a result.
The Stuttgart loanee has been one of Nuernberg’s star performers this term, scoring seven goals in 23 league appearances and setting up seven more.
