David Arquette has admitted he thought his wife Courteney Cox was having an affair with her Cougar Town co-star before they split.

The couple, who have a six-year-old daughter Coco, announced their separation in September after privately discussing it for months.

The 39-year-old said cracks started to show after Cox, 46, told him she ‘didn’t want to be his mother any more’ soon after their eleventh wedding anniversary.

In his first post-rehab interview, the Scream star told Oprah Winfrey: ‘She came down really depressed one day, and was like “I’m really just not happy.”
