Did someone mention it’s awards season?

As the media frenzy surrounding the Oscars hots-up, even the show hosts are getting in on the act.

Co-hosts and fellow actors Anne Hathaway and James Franco have released a Grease-inspired skit on YouTube which shows the pair re-creating the final scenes of the hit 1970s musical dressed as Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson.

You're the one that I want: Anne Hathaway and James Franco dressed up as Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson as they re-create a famous scene from hit-musical Grease ahead of the Oscars ceremony on Sunday night

Dressed in eye-watering skin-tight leather trousers, low-cut top and
complete with bouffant hair, Anne manages to get Olivia Newton-John’s
‘bad-girl’ look off to a tee.

Not bad for the Princess Diaries actress who usually relishes her girl-next-door image.

Meanwhile James Franco cuts a pretty decent Danny Zuko as he dons a very tight back t-shirt with quiffed hair, bearing more than just a passing resemblance to John Travolta.

The vintage-style skit shows the pair cavorting and dancing around amid speculation that they may perform a song from the musical during the ceremony itself.

This isn’t the first plug for the Oscars ceremony that the
28-year-old actress and 127 Hours actor James Franco have been involved
    in.

In another jokey add for the event, Anne Hathaway suffers a wardrobe
malfunction and can be seen on-stage presenting a gong when her dress
    slips off her shoulder.

Franco runs to her rescue, throwing a red blanket around the star to prevent her blushes.

But in another publicity stunt, Anne has apparently upset Hollywood
behemoths Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes who have threatened not to attend
    the event.

Anne was guest-presenting Saturday Night Live when she mimicked Katie in a
sketch, speaking in breathy tones and constantly tucking her hair behind her
    ear.

‘Tom and Katie don’t want to have to cross paths with Anne,’ says a Hollywood
    source.

‘They used to be friends and took Anne to a Tina Turner concert in 2008 when
Anne split up from her boyfriend Raffaello Follieri.

‘Katie feels they were really supportive at a difficult time so she feels let
down that Anne took to national TV to make fun of her.

‘Anne didn’t even warn her it was going to be on TV.’

Anne’s last film, Love And Other Drugs, is directed by Tom’s old friend Ed
Zwick, who directed him in The Last Samurai.

The ceremony, which will be hosted at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, airs this Sunday on the ABC network in the States.

    supporting actor (Geoffrey Rush).

True Grit followed with 10 nominations, while The Social Network and Inception were tied with eight. The Fighter received seven.

Network), James Franco (127 Hours), Christian Bale (The Fighter),

More than 5,700 members of the Academy – including actors, directors,

cast secret ballots to determine the Oscar winners.
