THE police authorities have detailed no fewer than 50 bomb detectors and 500 policemen to maintain law and order as leaders Action Congress of Nigeria ACN, including  former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu and National Chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande,  storm Ibadan for a historic rally on Saturday. The hint was dropped by a committee set up to achieve a memorable and  successful rally.

Though the Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Baba Adisa Bolanta, confirmed adequate security arrangement for the rally, he denied the knowledge of the number of policemen to be dispatched to the ancient Mapo Hall, venue of the rally.

Also, the ACN in a statement by one of its leaders, Mr. Gbolagade Busari, challenged Governor Akala to a debate on what he has in stock for the state.

He said the people of the state should compare the records of both Senator Abiola Ajimobi, Senator Rashidi Ladoja and Akala to determine who actually deserved to steer the ship for the state for the next four years.

Among the dignitaries expected at the rally are the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, Governor of Edo State and Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and many other chieftains of the party.

While speaking with newsmen ahead of the rally at Yemetu yesterday, the Oyo State Chairman of the party, Chief Akintola Oke said the rally would be the mother of all rallies that had ever been organised in Ibadan.

He further explained the reconciliatory efforts the party had made to unite all the its members, especially the aggrieved governorship aspirants who felt cheated when the leadership of the party unanimously selected Senator Abiola Ajimobi as the governorship candidate of the party.

According to the party chairman, Dr. Adebayo Adewusi and other had pledged that they would work with the party to achieve success at the April polls.

He spoke further that the party was waiting for others who promised to meet and bring the palliative measures they required to cushion the effect of the decision of the leadership of the party.

Gbolagade said, ACN would take up the challenge of rescuing the people of the state from alleged lack of imaginative leadership and would lead the crusade for the return of the alleged stolen mandate of Ajimobi.
