Gabriel Heinze: Man Utd Will Still Be Formidable Without Rio Ferdinand & Ryan Giggs

Olympique de Marseille defender Gabriel Heinze has stated that despite the host of injuries that Manchester United are plagued with at the moment, the English giants will still be a handful.

The French side host United in the first-leg of their Round of 16 clash in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.

The Red Devils are the favourites to win the two-legged tie but are in France without the injured Rio Ferdinand, Ryan Giggs, Anderson, Michael Owen and Jonny Evans.

Heinze, formerly at Man United, though, believes that even without Ferdinand and Giggs, the Red Devils will be tough to beat.

“They are the two stars of MU,” the Argentine is quoted as saying by Marseille’s official website. “Rio and Ryan have great qualities and everyone knows it, but I know that those who will replace them will also have qualities.

“However, it’s lucky for us that they are not there.”
