Gang of 3 arrested after allegedly demanding money from Coleen and Wayne Rooney

Coleen and Wayne Rooney’s son Kai is 16 months old

When Coleen and Wayne Rooney lost a camera containing snaps of son Kai at a Black Eyed Peas concert in Manchester’s MEN Arena last May, they hoped it would be handed in.

But it’s alleged that the finders contacted the couple and demanded a 5-figure sum for its return.

Now Coleen, 24 – who contacted the police – is ready to give evidence if required after 3 people were arrested.

‘Wayne and Coleen are extremely upset and angered about this attempt to ­blackmail them over the photographs of their baby son,’ says a source.

‘They are treasured family pictures with huge ­sentimental value.

‘Whoever is responsible ­obviously thought because of Wayne‘s wealth it could be an easy pay day.

‘Coleen co-operated fully with the police and is prepared to take

to the witness box if it sees justice done.’

A 41-year-old man was arrested in September and a 25-year-old woman and 28-year-old man were detained in December.

‘We are investigating an allegation of blackmail following an incident reported to us in September last year,’ a police spokesman tells the Daily Mail.

‘Three people are on bail pending further inquiries.’

The couple’s spokesman, Ian Monk, says: ‘Wayne and Coleen take their son’s privacy very ­seriously and they cannot say anything else at this stage.’
