150,000 defect to ACPN in Kwara

*PDP, CPC, ACN, ANPP, DA affected

Allied Congress Party of Nigeria, ACPN’s dominance of  Kwara State political landscape has further been strengthened by the defection to the party, of about 150,000 members of various political parties including the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,  and Alliance Congress of Nigeria, ACN .

At a colourful event which took place at the Waziri Ilorin, Dr. Olusola Saraki’s GRA home in the Kwara State capital, over 58 leaders of divers political interests, which include the ANPP, DA, and CPC stormed the carnival-like event ground with their supporters in about 150 load of buses pledging their unalloyed support for the ACPN and Dr. Olusola Saraki.

Former ACN gubernatorial aspirant in the state, Architect Lola Ashiru, who led over 50,000 of his supporters to declare for the ACPN, said at the event that it has become imperative for him to clear the air on his perceived continued interest in ACN. He declared that he had to leave his former party when it became clear that it lacked fair play and justice.

He said: “I am sure this public declaration by me and my teeming supporters for ACPN and the candidature of our next governor in Kwara State, Senator Gbemi Saraki, will put an end to the speculation that I am still in ACN. I left the party when I discovered that fair play and justice were lacking there.”

Some party leaders who led members to join ACPN include: Former gubernatorial candidate of the NDP, Alhaji Abdul Ganiyu Zubair; Mr. Dare Ajadi, from PDP; Hon. Aweda , from ACN; and Olusegun Omotunde, from CPC, among others.
