Propaganda Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress, Richard Quashigah is accusing their arch-rivals the New Patriotic Party of planning a series of stage-managed attacks on themselves to make the ruling party unfavorable to the populace.

Richard Quashigah recently stated that the NPP’S Member of Parliament for Ayawaso Central, Sheik I.C. Quaye could have stage-managed an alleged attack on his family home at Alajo only to turn around to point accusing fingers at NDC members.

Speaking in an interview Tuesday, February 22 2011 on the Big Bite show on Xfm 95.1, a privately owned commercial radio station in Accra, Richard Quashigah stated that he had credible information that the opposition NPP has planned a chain of these attacks only to make the NDC unpopular.

Mr Quashigah said the NPP upon realizing that the good works of President Mills would keep them further in opposition is coming up with some weird solutions to make them see power. He, however, assured them that nothing they intend to do would make President Mills and the NDC unpopular.

“Per the ‘all die be die’ comments, they intend to stage-manage attacks on their own self and come out to tell the world that the NDC members are attacking them. When they do that, it is to create disaffection for the NDC, to justify the ‘all die be die’ statement and to discourage foreign investor confidence as clearly, they know that the rate at which investment is flying into this country, it would make them so uncomfortable”.

“They believe that if these kinds of development activities continue, it would dwindle their chances the more. But we can assure them that anytime they meet and formulate some of these diabolic things, we always would be there. We have our eagle eyes following them and they would be exposed at all times”.

However, a member of the NPP’s campaign team John Boadu has rubbished the allegation. Describing it as a ridiculous analysis, Mr Boadu said it is the NDC’s ploy to cook up lies and just spew it.

“You can imagine a mature person making such a ridiculous analysis. What kind of people are we dealing with; that Richard Quashigah, a Propaganda Secretary would cook up lies and just be spewing it. What is the meaning of this?”
