The New Patriotic Party has made another attempt to rationalize its flagbearer’s use of the word “all die be die” by saying that the phrase is Biblical.

NPP Member of Parliament for Nkoranza North in the Brong Ahafo Region, Major Derrick Oduro Retired, says the pronouncement made by Nana Akufo-Addo has biblical connotations.

Major Oduro explained that the presidential candidate took inspiration from the scriptures in 2 kings 7: 3-5 which reads; “3 and there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die? 4 If we say, ‘We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.

5 And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there”.

Speaking Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem on Tuesday, Major Rtd Oduro said there is victory in sight so the NPP will not compromise on any political threats from its opponents.

Meanwhile the NPP Presidential candidate has reiterated his position on the “All die be die” pronouncement as he continues to enjoy support from members of the party.

According to the NPP National Organiser Alhaji Moctar Bamba, all Nana Addo meant was to send signals that they will no longer sit and watch their supporters suffer physical attacks from perceived NDC supporters.
