Danish side Odense BK have refused to hand a contract to Ghana striker Junior Agogo after a one-week trial period at the club, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.
The former Zamalek failed to impress and had his last training session with the club on Wednesday.
A statement on the club’s website read: “The team’s trainers have assessed the attacker in two friendlies and a series of training sessions, and OB have decided not to offer a contract to Agogo.”
Agogo has struggled to replicate his form that earned him rave reviews during the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations for Ghana on home soil where he scored three goals.
The 31-year-old was axed by Cypriot side Apollon Limassol after a serious knee injury he suffered while training with the club.
Even before the injury, club officials of Apollon were unimpressed with his performance which seems to have quickened the decision for them to release him from his two-year contract.
He has scored 12 goals in 27 caps for the Black Stars.
