The Managing Editor of the New Crusading Guide, Malik Kwaku Baako has lashed out at Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and a member of the Board of the Bui Power Project Authority for creating what he describes as “unnecessary controversy” on the Bui Dam Project.
According to him, Mr. Asiedu Nketia is acting irresponsibly and unprofessionally in dealing with issues concerning an important national project; the Bui dam.
Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana programme, Mr. Baako asserted that the current hullabaloo and distortions surrounding the Bui Dam project are as a result of how the NDC Chief Scribe is handling the issues.
He said instead of the new board interrogating the challenges confronting them with discipline, Mr. Asiedu Nketia popularly known as General Mosquito has resorted to propaganda.
“As far as I’m concerned, the root cause of this unnecessary controversy is Asiedu Nketia because he did not deal with the issue in a professional and responsible manner, he just threw the issues unto the streets. As a board member to such an important project, if you want to deal with any problem and challenges surrounding it, you’ve got to do it in a very responsible and professional manner so that if there are any challenges to be interrogated, it is done in a discipline way and not the propagandist way,” he said.
To him, though General Mosquito is known to be an ‘agitator general’ who indulges in propaganda, he still has to bring his competence to bear in his current position as a board member.
“…if he wasn’t a member of the board maybe I would have excused him because everybody knows he is an agitator general. He is noted for agitation so if he decides to indulge in propaganda, fine, it suits him but when you are a member of a board; we expect that he portrays his level of competence which is the reason why the president appointed him to the board,” he noted.
