Central Regional Minister, Hon Ama Benyiwaa Doe has debunked reports that some top officials of the Central Region branch of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) party have petitioned the President to as a matter of urgency, relieve her off her position.
In an interview on Citi Eye Witness News, Hon. Benyiwa Doe described the publication by the Today newspaper as a cooked up story, which she finds very funny.
According to the Today newspaper, some top party hierarchy members in a memorandum to the president alleged that the only achievement of the regional minister is to grace funerals and festivals in the region.
“Benyiwa-Doe will definitely cause the fall of the NDC in the Central region if the President does not change her. She is only interested in her well-being and has consistently ignored the party structure in the region in decision-making processes…Benyiwa-Doe does not even meet central regional DCEs on how to get most of the projects in the region going or completed….Benyiwa-Doe seems to be too consumed in amassing personal wealth at the expense of the total development of the Central region,” some of the agitating NDC officials disclosed to the Today newspaper.
Today’s findings also suggest that the geo-political dichotomy of the central region might have also conspired against the tenure of Benyiwa-Doe’s stewardship.
But the former National Women’s Organiser of the NDC dismissed the publication as spurious and challenged the writer of the story to name the top officials they are claim want her out of office.
“I don’t have any problem with the NDC members,” she strongly asserted.
