Mr Acquaye adds, “we met Justice Francis Kpegah, retired Justice of the Supreme Court, we went over to Parliament House to meet the Right Honorable Justice Joyce Adelaine Bamford – Addo and then Nana Akuffo Addo.”
The Constitutional Review Commission began sittings in January, last year. Its objective is to ascertain from the people of Ghana, their views on the operation of the 1992 Fourth Republican Constitution, and in particular its strengths and weaknesses.
The Commission is also to articulate the concerns of the people as regards the amendments that might be required for a comprehensive review and make recommendations to government for consideration and provide a draft Bill for possible amendments to the Constitution.
Mr. Acquaye will however, not disclose the submissions of these special consulters, but said “at the right time, we will let the people of Ghana know by the agreement what they said”.
After these special consultations, Papa Kwow Acquaye says a National Constitution Conference would be held from the 1st to the 5th of March 2011”.
