One of the favourites of the 2011 African Nations Championship, Ghana, are in high spirit ahead of their opening Group B game against debutants South Africa.
A management member of the local Black Stars, George Afriyie, told Joy Sports the 2009 silver medallists have been well motivated to clench the ultimate at the second edition of the tournament reserved for players in the domestic leagues on the continent.
“The winning bonuses have been announced to them. They are overly motivated for it and they know the reasons why we are here,” Afriyie said. “We expect them to deliver. It’s a great chance to represent the country.”
Ghana and South Africa are in the same group with Zimbabwe and Niger. The 2011 CHAN kicks off in Sudan on Friday.
