Berekum Chelsea goalkeeper Ernest Sowah has been handed a debut Ghana call-up for next week’s friendly against Togo in Antwerp, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
The 22-year-old former Tema Youth gloves man has kept ten clean sheets this season from 19 matches and has been key in the side’s position on the summit of the table.
With regulars Isaac Amoako and Sammy Adjei on international assignment with the locally-based national, Sowah has been handed an opportunity to impress new Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic.
He was conspicuously left out of Ghana squad for this month’s African Nations Championship (CHAN) in to be played in Sudan. Sowah was a member of the Ghana’s Under-17 team that played at the 2005 Fifa World Cup in Peru.
GHANAsoccernet sources also reveal Portugal-based defender David Addy has been invited for next Tuesday’s assignment.
FC Utrecht left-back Nana Akwasi Asare is expected to be named in the 19-man squad. The Ghana Football Association is to release the full squad for the friendly match.
