Hearts Board Accepts Blame For Slump

Hearts of Oak board chairman Commodore Mensah has astonishingly revealed his outfit is to be blamed for the club’s woes in the Ghana Premier League.
The Board of Directors has come under huge criticism from the club supporters who have accused some of them of ’sabotaging’ the effort of newly appointed Chief Executive Officer Fred Crentsil.
The 2000 African champions have struggled for football oxygen this term as they have picked up only 22 points from a possible 57 and currently lie at a parlous 14 position.
The supporters aborted an intended massive demonstration on Wednesday to allow the Council of Patrons to decide on the future of the 24-man Board. Mensah has sensationally admitted the actions of some of the board members have somewhat undone the club.
“We know we are to blame and so allow us to fix it before we think about who comes and take over the club,” He told Asempa FM. ‘Nobody loves the club more than me and the fact that we’re not doing well is a puzzle to me. When the team play in away matches they do well but just goes flat when they get to the Accra Sports Stadium.
“The supporters must be patient because clubs go through such phases and I’m positive we’ll bounce back greatly.”
