New FIFA Ranking: Black Stars Still Ranked No.16


    Ghana has started off the year at 16th, the same position it finished the previous year in the first edition of the Fifa ranking for 2011 released Wednesday.
    With no significant changes, the Black Stars still managed to accumulate 16 points to see their tally rise to 924.
    The Black Stars are still Africa’s second best side behind Egypt. Ivory Coas follow in third with Nigeria coming in at fourth on the continental ranking table.
    World champions, Spain still leads the the overall standing followed by the Netherlands and Germany in third position.
    According to FIFA, there was almost no action at national-team level in most confederations. Only 35 friendly matches have been taken into account in the current ranking, 23 of which were played before the turn of the year.
