The shadow Minister of Health for the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Professor Agyeman Badu Akosa, said the Party was against the appointment of another Serbian coach, Goran Stevanovich, to coach the national team, the Black Stars.
Speaking at the CPP Shadow Ministers’ news conference in Cape Coast on Tuesday, Prof. Akosa said it was sad that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) rejected its own compatriot, Herbert Addo, who made it to the final selection during the search for a new Black Stars coach, after Milovan Rejevac had resigned midstream, having taken Ghana to the quarter finals in the FIFA World cup, held in South Africa last year.
Unable to fathom as to why the GFA failed to give the job to a Ghanaian, Akosa who spoke with passion contended that Ghana cannot reach the semi finals in subsequent World Cups, because greed and hatred were killing the blessings God showered on Ghana as a country. “Until Ghana will have a Ghanaian coach, we will not get to the semi-finals (of the World Cup). Never! Never,” he emphasized. “If your President is Ghanaian, why can’t your national team coach be a Ghanaian,” he questioned. He further explained that God had given Ghanaians all that it takes to succeed, but they had given it to the white man.
The Serbian Coach will be outdoored on Wednesday, for Ghanaians to know the newly-appointed coach for the Black Stars.
