Fred Agbekonyi, 34, a Computer
Technician in Ho, committed suicide on New Year day his room
following an alleged misunderstanding between him and his
fiancée.
Agbekonyi was found dead with a rope around his neck
hanging from the ceiling of his room on New Year’s Day.
Items suspected to be for performing his fiancée’s marriage rites
were packed in a corner in the room.
A police source who confirmed the incident to the GNA said on
December 31, 2010, Agbekonyi visited his fiancée at her home but
did not meet her.
He said after some hours, the fiancée showed up and after
some verbal exchanges between them, Agbekonyi allegedly
assaulted her.
The Police source said the late Agbekonyi’s fiancée then left
for a friend’s house where she passed the night.
The Police source said the late Agbekoknyi, reportedly left for
his house on the dawn of January 1 and hanged himself.
