CAL Bank has handed over 23 KIA Granbird Sikroad buses to VIP Transport Company to enhance its business of conveying goods and passengers across the country.

The move formed part of 36 buses that the bank agreed to give to the transport company to facilitate its business, which is estimated at $5 million.

As part of the agreement, the amount would be paid in installments over a period of four years.

Frank Adu, Managing Director of the CAL Bank, said it was necessary for the bank to partner the transport company to ensure safety in the transportation industry.

“We decided to purchase the buses for VIP due to their loyalty, trustworthiness, commitment of the drivers and the general staff,” he noted.

He noted that VIP was doing well, stressing that CAL as a bank would never turn its back on them anytime the need arises to offer a helping hand.

“We are very happy that at least we could help make life comfortable for passengers who engage the services of VIP to feel more relaxed and know that surely they will get to their destination,” he stated.

Jin Soo Hong, Director of Korea Auto Company Limited expressed appreciation to VIP for setting standards as far as traveling was concern.

He said his outfit had supplied buses to VIP Transport Company since its establishment 16 years ago, adding, “I am very happy about their output so far.”

Patrick Agyekum, Managing Director of Provident Insurance Company, main insurers of the buses,  commended the drivers, stating that he has been highly impressed with how they carried out their duties.

Yaw Marfo, Chairman of VIP Transport Company, who received the keys on behalf of the union, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Cal Bank.

He said, “Our drivers are well trained, educated, neatly dressed and highly disciplined.

They understand their jobs and are aware that any misconduct will cost them their job in view of that they are more careful when they are dealing with passengers and even in terms of their driving.’’

The drivers could not hide their joy as they danced and sung to show their gratitude to God Almighty, management and staff of CAL Bank.
