Jake: The ‘master driver’ to take the NPP to Jubilee House

is the “master driver to take the NPP to the Jubilee House.”

The former tourism and Information Minister is banking is hope on his vast experience in Ghana’s political landscape and track record which spans over a period of 30 years to win the position.

He is competing for the slot with four other party stalwarts; Dr Charles Wereko-Brobby, Mr Felix Owusu Agyapong, Mr Stephen Ntim, and Sammy Crabbe.

Mr Obetsebi-Lamptey told Myjoyonline.com that “Ghana needs NPP in government,” and he is the best person who “knows the way from opposition to government.”

He touted his marketing and communication credentials which he noted won political victories to the NPP in the 2000 and 2004 elections.

As part of a short term vision if he wins the election, Mr Obetsebi-Lamptey pledged to unify the party behind the flagbearer and the parliamentary candidates in the 2012 elections.

He also promised to imbibe professionalism in the party’s activities by training, resourcing and motivating party members.

In the long term, he said he would take a position in government to deepen the synergy and working relationship between the party and government.

“I will work in the party to make it the natural party of government,” he noted.
