Two decades after Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain died from an apparent suicide, police are examining his death once again!
A Seattle detective recently took another look into Kurt’s case file and uncovered undeveloped photos of the death scene.
But despite some earlier media reports suggesting a new investigation was being launched, police are pointing out that this does NOT mean they are opening up any new case regarding Cobain’s death.
Spokeswoman Renee Witt explained that what they found does not change their previous investigation at all. She put it bluntly, saying:
“No change, no developments, no new leads.”
One photo released by Seattle PD this week (see below) shows the scene where Kurt was found along with a drug kit near his body.
According to investigators however, similar photos had been found previously.
Kurt Cobain was found dead in his Lake Washington home on April 8. Over the past 20 years, there has been much public speculation as to how he really died.
And with the anniversary approaching next month, clearly there’s enough doubt in the department for at least one detective to keep looking into the case!
For now though, Kurt’s death remains a closed case.
