Hold Onto Your Butts! MAJOR Jurassic World Casting Announcement! Who From The Original Is Coming Back?!

They left us!

The entire main original cast from Jurassic Park is leaving us to fend for ourselves in the upcoming sequel!

Womp womp…

There was talk that Dr. Grant, Dr. Sattler, Tim, Lex, Hammond, and Malcolm would all be back on the island for Jurassic World, but director Colin Trevorrow is stomping those rumors like a T-Rex stomping a Ford Explorer!

Colin was asked recently about whether fan favorites Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern, and Sam Neill would be asked back and he replied:

“I know a lot of fans want to see the original characters back. They’re iconic. But I respect those actors too much to shoehorn them into this story for my own sentimental reasons. Jurassic Park isn’t about the bad luck of three people who keep getting thrown into the same situation.”

He’s so right. Even though Sam, Laura, and Jeff have all appeared in the JP sequels of the past, it would be pretty silly to see them come back for this one.

But, there will be ONE familiar face up on the big screen when Jurassic World comes out in theaters!

BD Wong will reprise his role as scientist Henry Wu!

Colin has plans for telling a side of the story that was a major plot point in the original novel but never got showcased on screen! He explained:

“[Henry Wu] had a much larger role in the original novel, he was the engineer of this breakthrough in de-extinction. He spent two decades living in Hammond’s shadow, underappreciated. We think there’s more to his story.”

Jurassic World will also star Chris Pratt, Idris Elba, and Bryce Dallas Howard and is expected to come out in 2015!

Mucho excitement!!!
