98fe348303769 667181 Some Irate Youth Defaces NDC Party Offices In WaSome irate youth suspected to be the National Democratic Congress (NDC) youth have defaced the party’s Regional and Municipal offices in Wa in an alleged protest against President Mahama’s latest ministerial reshuffle.

The angry youth who carried out the action in the night splashed the front view of the offices with red paint covering the artistic paintings of the President’s images, his posters and the party’s inscriptions on the wall.

Writings such as “No Bede No JM” and “JM why Hamidu” are found on all the floors and walls of the party offices when GNA visited the premises on Thursday morning.

President John Dramani Mahama, in his latest ministerial reshuffle, replaced Mr. Bede Ziedeng as the Upper West Regional Minister with Alhaji Amidu Sulemani, Member of Parliament for Sissala West and Minister for Roads and Highways.

When GNA contacted Mr. Adams M. Issahaku, the NDC Regional Organizer, he said the Regional Executives had no hand in the action taken by the youth group.

“I suspect that those who did that will be a group of NDC youth because in the region; I believe no other person from a different political party will agree to do that”, he said.

He described the action as a wrong move, adding that the party in the region believed in adopting the right procedures in channeling grievances.

The Wa Police has put police guard at the two offices of the NDC and are also monitoring the situation.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Edmond Nyamekye, Acting Public Relations Officer, said the Regional Command had invited the leadership of the NDC for discussions.

He said no arrest had been made and the situation is calm.

The Regional Executives of the party had earlier this week held a press conference giving the President one week ultimatum to bring back Bede as the Regional Minister or they would demonstrate and also resign from their positions as Regional Executives of the party.
