Anichebe Wants Back With Super Eagle

West Bromwich Albion striker Victor Anichebe has said he is willing to return to international duties should the coach give him a chance.

With the 2014 World Cup just few months ahead, the former Everton FC frontman would want to be considered for a role in the squad for Brazil.

“Right now I’m playing well, feeling fit, strong and helping my team in the situation we are currently in,” Anichebe told BBC Sport.

“If I continue to play well from now to the end of the season then we can take it from there.

“I’m grateful that the coach (Stephen Keshi) says he is willing to give me a chance, but I think everybody in Nigeria and around the world knows what I can do. We will see what happens.”

Anichebe who won the Beijing Olympic silver medal with Nigeria last played for the Eagles in 2011, when he suffered an injury in a 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Madagascar. He has since then not featured for the African Champions while recuperating from injury.

“The Premier League is watched around the world so it’s easy to see what qualities I can bring to the team,” he added.

“Yes the World Cup only comes once in every four years and it could be my last opportunity, this is something I’m aware of but I haven’t spoken to anybody.”

The 25-year-old has earned 11 international caps and scored thrice in 18 league appearances since joining West Brom.
