Yesterday, May 5, gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram terrorists killed over 300 people in Ngala Local Government Area of Borno State.
The Senator representing the zone, Ahmed Zanna, confirmed the incident.
An anonymous source in the community stated that the invaders spent several hours wreaking havoc on defenceless civilians.
The source said that attackers stormed the communities in the night when residents were still sleeping. They set the houses, shops ablaze and were shooting residents who tried to escaped from the fire.
Thus, over 300 persons were confirmed dead after the attack, with several others injured. Almost all the houses in the community were destroyed by the hoodlums who threw Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) at the buildings.
The resident added: “My brother who was at the scene of the attack told me that the actual number of the dead cannot be ascertained but at least they are up to 300. In fact as we spoke he wept following the high number of the dead bodies which littered the market.”
