ef32889907708 936559 Mahama’s Kumasi Comment Was Simply Awesome & Fantastic... Asiedu NketiaPresident John Dramani Mahama fell on hard times after the comments he passed in Kumasi during a recent visit to the Ashanti Region were allegedly doctored but General Secretary for the National Democratic Congress has described it as historic.

On the said tape, the president could be heard referring to some people as “ingrates” who wouldn’t appreciate his efforts even if he replaces their asphalt roads with gold.

The issue escalated into a national one and diverse opinions have been shared but General Secretary for the National Democratic Congress believes the president needs to be praised rather than condemned.

In an interview with Okay FM, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia recalled that some twenty years ago, the New Patriotic Party led by the late Professor Adu Boahen made it clear to ex-president Rawlings that “even if he goes out to mine gold at Obuasi and comes back to replace the streets in Kumasi with it, they would still vote against him.

This was a period when even some roads in Accra had not been tarred but we did it for Kumasi and they showed us they didn’t appreciate it. They asked us if we expect them to eat the asphalt. They started singing songs such as ‘Akonta b3 si fom’ to wit our Brother-in-law would certainly be dethroned”.

He challenged NPP elders to come out and deny his claims if they believed what he is saying are lies and wholeheartedly praised President Mahama for being historic when he delivered his speech.
