Ghana defender Jerry Akaminko remains a huge doubt of making it to Brazil for the 2014 World Cup finals after suffering a scary injury in Saturday’s friendly against the Netherlands.
The centre-back landed awkwardly when he went in for an aerial challenge and suspected to have torn a ligament.
The Eskisehirspor player had to be stretched off and the scene created when the Ghana bench had to surround him gave the impression the injury was a bad one.
Akaminko will have to undergo tests to determine if he can recover fully before the tournament begins in 16 days time.
Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah will name his final 23-man squad on 2 June after the team has landed in Florida, USA to continue preparations.
