LASTMA: 24-hr patrol duty on Apapa-Oshodi Road

By OLASUNKANMI AKONI &MONSOR OLOWOOPEJO LAGOS – Determined to enforce its zero-tolerance to indiscriminate parking of containerised vehicles on Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, the Lagos State Government has deployed officials of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, on a 24-hour operation to keep the axis free of traffic. Meanwhile, traffic on Ozumba Mbadiwe Road, Victoria Island, will be diverted from tomorrow to enable the construction company commence work on the road.

Man beats girlfriend to death in P-Harcourt

Kayode to sign deal for IBO cruiserweight title fight

WITH two weeks left to the International Boxing Federation (IBO) cruiserweight world title fight between Nigerian Lateef Kayode and champion, Antonio Tarver, the Nigerian has expressed delight at the signing of the agreement, which will take place tomorrow and Thursday. Kayode told The Guardian from his base in the United States (U.S.) yesterday that signing agreement for the fight, which will include how the purse would be shared, was a pointer to the fact that the fight was on course, stating: “I am going to sign this week and I am very happy to be doing that. It shows that my team’s effort at seeing me win a world title is nearing fruition.” Kayode said he has continued to work hard to ensure that he won the title on June 2 in California, and his training has dwelt more on endurance and footwork
