President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo yesterday left Ghana for Geneva, Switzerland, to attend the 5th edition of the Africa CEO Forum.

The forum brings together Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of the largest African and international companies and political decision makers from more than 40 African countries and investors on the continent.

President Akufo-Addo will hold meetings with Michael Sidibe, the Executive Director of UNAIDS; the Swiss Minister for Economic Affairs, Johann Schneider-Ammann and the Ghanaian community in Geneva.

The theme for the 2017 Africa CEO Forum is “Rethinking Africa’s business model.”

The President is scheduled to return to Ghana on Thursday, March 23, 2017, a statement issued in Accra and signed by Eugene Arhin, Director of Communications at the Flagstaff House, has indicated.

Storms Owusu Bempah’s Church

However, ahead of emplaning to Switzerland, President Akufo-Addo attended a thanksgiving service at the Glorious Word Power Ministries International presided over by Prophet Isaac Owusu Bempah for the spiritual role he played to ensure an NPP victory in the 2016 general elections.

President Akufo-Addo expressed profound gratitude to the prophet for his support that saw him emerging victorious in the keenly contested election.

Sounding biblical, the president said the election was fought against principalities and powers of darkness but he was convinced that the battle was the Lord’s.

Nana Akufo-Addo said the victory could only have come through the power of prayer and intercession by Rev Owusu Bempah and other spiritual leaders.

“I am too happy to be here. I should have been here earlier, but God ordained it for me to come at this time. You should know it was God who made me come here at this time as the President of Ghana…It is important that we fervently pray for the change we desire. I know one of the religious leaders who will champion this cause of change is Rev Owusu Bempah,” he underscored.

He visited the church to thank the prophet and urge him to continue praying for him and his ministers to succeed.
