Leading food manufacturing company Promasidor Ghana has embarked on a mission to become the first Ghanaian company to register its name in the Guinness World Records.

ONGA, a seasoning powder brand produced by Promasidor, will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the “Longest Feast Table”.

The event which will showcase Ghana’s food culture to the world will take place on March 25, 2017, at the Independence Square in Accra with an anticipated crowd of over 3,000 people.

As part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility, six selected orphanages would also benefit in Promasidor’s bid to write their name on the world map of corporate entities.

The orphanages would receive donations as part of measures to help alleviate their challenges after the event.

Sales and Marketing Director of Promasidor, Timo Van Vooren, in an interview with Joy Business said, “ONGA has always been creative in the marketing activities where local communities are engaged.

“That’s why we came up with this great idea to put Ghana on the map with an official world record,” he said.

Saudi Arabian’s market leader in the edible oils sector, Afia International Company currently holds the record for the longest feast table which is 1,508 metres and ONGA plans to beat it with a table length of 1,900 metres.
