Malam Ustaz Yunus, the General Manager of a Kaduna-based media organisation, “The New Democrat” was on Friday, killed by unknown gunmen.
The New Democrat, which is owned by Senator Mukhtar Aruwa, runs a Weekly publication.

NAN reports that the gunmen at about 7:45 p.m stormed the residence of the deceased at Ungwan Dosa area of Kaduna metropolis and shot him.
According to some of his colleagues, who spoke on condition of anonymity, the assailants did not take any item from the apartment, which made them to suspect he was assassinated.
They also alleged that there was a political undertone to the murder as the killers did not steal anything from the apartment.

“They just stormed the house, killed him, and disappeared” one of the staff said.
Aminu Lawal, the state Police Command spokesperson confirmed the incident to newsmen when contacted.
Lawal also disclosed that investigations into the brutal killing had commenced.
