The event and brand department of  Pink 96.9 FM, a Kasoa-based radio station, has organised a health walk to create awareness on the importance of regular exercises.

The 14-kilometre walk drew participation from staff of Pink FM, listeners, Omanhene of Ngleshie Amanfrom Divisional Council, Nii Kwashie Gbolor IV, other keep fit clubs, MP for Awutu-Senya East, Hon Mavis Koomson, Funny Face and people from all walks of life.

Addressing the participants, the Events and Promotion Manager of Pink FM, Edward Aboagye, said the walk was to promote health and fitness amongst staff as well as develop collaboration with the keep fit clubs, listeners and the general public.

He said the essence of the walk was to highlight the importance of regular exercises and the need for all to stay fit and healthy.

Mr Aboagye said the event also served as a platform for staff of the station to bond together whilst pledging his outfit’s commitment to the healthy lifestyle of the staff.

The walk, which was under the theme: ‘Walk for Health’, commenced from the forecourt of the station through some principal streets of Kasoa and ended at the forecourt of the station.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the station, Sir Gordon Addai-Baffour Goodman, told BEATWAVES after the walk that the station is ready to educate and entertain listeners with well-designed programmes and good music, adding that apart from providing 24-hour service to its listeners, the station also hopes to become a force to reckon with in the broadcasting industry.
