Newly Elected Greater Accra Branch Executives Of NASWOTTU With Some Members



The Greater Accra Regional branches of the Association of Sand and Stone Workers and Tippers Users, (NASWOTTU), have elected new executives with Mr Isaac Adgyei-Mensah as the new chairman to steer the affairs of the association.

The election of the new executive happened at a very critical period as the association has petitioned government through the Minister in charge of Public Private Partnership, Hon. Rashid Pelpuo, to decentralize the issuance of permit for sand winning in the country.

The newly elected officers are expected to champion this cause.

The executives include Mr Isaac Adjei-Mensah as Chairman, Joseph Effah, first Vice Chairman, John Duah, 2nd Vice Chairman and Francis Ateimo as Secretary in-charge of Administration.

The rest are Joseph Amasa Ashie as Secretary in-charge of Operations, the Financial Secretary elect is Saeed Ahmed, Jacob Nyadi as the Treasurer and Mohammed Gado as the Organizer.

Speaking on behalf of the executive, the newly elected chairman, Mr. Isaac Adjei-Mensah, promised to pursue the larger interest of the association including the urgent need to ensure that government accedes to the group’s request for the decentralization of permit issuance.

He emphasized the need for unity as an essential element in achieving the goals of the association.

Mr Adjei-Mensah promised to tackle the issue of the axle load which has bedeviled the Greater Accra branch for a long time.

He promised to operate an open door policy where members’ views are always considered in decision making.

Present at the function was the National Chairman of the association, Mr. P.K Donkor, who admonished the newly elected regional chairman to always work with his team.

He also advice the other elected executives to support their leader in order to meet the objectives of the association.
