Player Ratings: Holland vs Ghana

3.5 / 5   Adam Kwarasey – Although Ghana’s defence fell asleep on most occasions, Adam Kwarasey was very alert, racing off his line to cover both times.

An encouraging and commanding performance from the Strømsgodset goalie – even though he had relatively little to do with Robin Van Persie’s goal. He made three crucial saves to deny Arjen Robben from doubling the Oranje’s lead.

0.5 / 5  Samuel Inkoom – The right back left too much room for the Netherlands left-back Daley Blind to overlap and was found wanting on couple of occasions. Inkoom struggled throughout especially in the first half. He barely helped Albert Adomah in attack and was defensively poor too.

1.0 / 5  Jeffrey Schlupp – Schlupp Lost his balance and can be forgiven for the slip that led to Van Persie tapping home from six yards after being teed up by Sneijder. He was combative and passed well. He was assured, and slightly conservative in defence. He was only found in the opposition box from the hour mark, but that suggests a maturity and gradual acclimatisation to international football now he is compete with Harrision Afful.

1.0 / 5  Jerry Akaminko –  Akaminko failed to form a cohesive partnership with Rashid Sumaila at the back. The pair was bisected on several occasions in the first half. His second half performance was better, but picked up a terrible injury late in the game after landing awkwardly on his ankle

1.0  / 5  Rashid Sumaila – Sumaila should be careful with his tackles in the world cup. His challenges are very dangerous and card ridden. While he was perhaps fortunate to get away with a clumsy challenge in the area on Arjen Robben, Sumaila was however combative and didn’t allow Van Persie too much to operate.

1.0 / 5  Rabiu Mohammed – Failed to win crucial 50-50 balls in midfield for the Black Stars. He was very slow in winning tackles and didn’t offer much other than athleticism in midfield, as he didn’t appear to have the technical quality to cause any problems.

1.5 / 5  Michael Essien – Like his holding midfield Partner, Michael Essien was slow in winning most of the 50-50 balls in midfield. But the AC Milan man put himself around well and set an example as captain, breaking up play in the midfield third late in the first half.

2 / 5 Kwadwo Asamoah – The Juventus man had a terrible first half, as he barely tracked back to support Jeffry Schlupp in defence. He however tracked back and covered well in the second half when drafted in central midfield, as well as arriving at the back post well to challenge for headers.

0 / 5 Albert Adomah – The Middlesbrough winger had a terrible day. His touches were poor and couldn’t pick out any good crosses towards the back post. This might be his last game for Ghana.

0.5 / 5 Christian Atsu – The Vitesse Arnhem playmaker had a quiet game. His creativity was missing and failed to link up well with lone striker Jordan Ayew. He used his pace to get in behind on a couple of occasions, but was otherwise anonymous.

0.5 / 5 Jordan Ayew – Joradan wasn’t involved involved heavily, as he failed to test Cillessen with a single shot.
