EXCLUSIVE: America advisor Vogts arrives in Holland to spy on Ghana in friendly

America technical advisor Berti Vogts has arrived in the Dutch city of Rotterdam to spy on the Black Stars in tonight’s friendly against Holland ahead of their World Cup clash in two weeks time, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

Vogts was spotted in Rotterdam on Saturday afternoon driving from his native Germany to watch the match for his reports to be sent to America’s coach Jurgen Klinsmann.

He will also travel to Miami on 9 June to watch the Black Stars in the friendly against South Korea as they plot to defeat the Black Stars in their crucial clash at the World Cup.

Ghana will face USA in their opening Group G match at the World Cup and Vogts has been appointed to monitor the Black Stars for the reports to be sent to Klinsmann to plot the defeat of the West Africans.

Klinsmann appointed his countryman Vogts to be his technical director for the World Cup and the former Nigeria boss has started work by monitoring the Black Stars for this match.

Vogts drove to Rotterdam to watch Ghana face the Netherlands on Saturday and on Sunday, he’ll head back to Germany to watch  Die Mannschaft  face Cameroon in Mönchengladbach.

Then it’s back to the States to scout Portugal’s match vs. Mexico at Gillette Stadium on June 6.

Then he’ll meet up with Klinsmann & Co. in Jacksonville for the US’ final send-off match vs. Nigeria a day later.

Following that, he’ll stay in Florida for another two days to again see Ghana play South Korea on June 9 at Miami’s SunLife Stadium.

The Nigeria match, in particular, will make for interesting viewing, said Vogts.

In his view, the Super Eagles play a fast and physical style similar to Ghana’s, and the game will serve as excellent preparation for the USMNT’s opener in Natal on June 16.

Like many observers, Vogts sees the Group G opener as paramount for the US side.

‘The most important thing is this match against Ghana,’ he said. ‘That’s the most important thing.
