Manya krobo Rural bank has pledged their commitment to its corporate social responsibilities within its operational environs in the coming years as twenty thousand, seven hundred and eighty-two cedis were spent on both individuals and organisations last year.
This was made known by Board chairman of the bank Mr. Benjamin T. Apo at the bank’s 33rd annual general meeting in Odumase-Krobo in the manya krobo municipality of the Eastern region last Saturday.
According to him the bank supported education of three brilliant but needy students at both senior high and tertiary levels, supported development of some schools, supported the Dangme beads festival as well as supporting the Farmers’ Day celebrations in four municipalities in which the bank operates.
Mr. Apo, was however grateful that, upon all the economic hardships last year, the bank was able to increase profit from 517,179 Cedis in 2012 to 703,853 Cedis last year representing 36%.
He emphasised that the re-structured microfinance unit now contributes 24.45% of the bank’s total advances and called for more ideas to increase their portfolio this year.Mr Benjamin Apo therefore commended hardworking staff and management for the steady growth of the bank in the past five years.
Mr. Kenneth Owusu Twumasi of ARB Apex bank assured management of Manya krobo Rural bank of their continious support and also urged the bank to develop more innovative ways to increase profit.Meanwhile, Mr.Benjamin T. Apo and Mrs. Mercy M. Tetteh were re-elected as the Board’s chairman and vice respectively.
