Ghana forward Andre Ayew has denied confirming the receipt of an offer from Italian club Napoli.

The Blues are said to have tabled a $14m bid to Olympique Marseille for the Black Stars enforcer.

Napoli director Riccardo Bigon is reported to have made the bid after holding talks with officials of Marseille on France this week.

Andre Ayew is quoted in a report by a South African football website to have confirmed receiving an offer from Napoli.

But the 2009 U20 World Cup winner has denied granting interviews to this effect.

“My attention has been drawn to a story on  www.football441.com http://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.football441.com%2F&h=lAQEZUzL3&enc=AZOI4tBChVr58FrSv1Gge_NMbclwIxWJ5n7_VVW7vbKHx_6xaoBt0RHeLGMxm9zUKxgYhqVWQ_oXQqDbBlV1lXI0GEMaR2H4Am_-oPazU3PwfflI-ORLBCijlZpmkP5G7ZJ9p3Ycz_pSwKycLkEqhX9E&s=1 claiming I told their Ghana correspondent Russel Wiafe that Napoli have shown an interest in me,” Ayew says through his spokesman Fiifie Tackie.

“I normally don’t do this but I have not spoken to Wiafe and the quotes the website attributes to me are therefore not my words.

“I am under contract at Marseille, I remain committed to this club and will not be going around revealing to journalists I barely know of non-existent interest from other clubs.

“So disregard that report because those quotes could only have been made up.”

Ayew is said to have one more year remaining on his existing deal with Olympique Marseille.

The 24-year-old has been a subject of intense transfer talks in recent years.
