A Former Member of Parliament for Ejura constituency Hon. Mohammed Yussif Pangabu has decided to part ways with the NDC party following what he describes as a ‘severe impertinent act’ by top executive operatives of the party.
Honourable Mohammed Pangabu was MP for the constituency on the ticket of the NDC from 2000 to 2008.
He dropped the bombshell after a call was placed at him to find out why he was seen missing when the president visited the area on Saturday, May 3.
The former legislator who is now a member of Ghana Tourist Board said he has no business in the matters of the NDC party and that he cannot continue to be disrespected and ridiculed.
“Please I am a businessman, I’m not a politician, I am not under any president. I don’t know any party”.
It would be recalled that President Mahama went on a three day working tour to the Ashanti Region and on that tour, amongst other things he commissioned some projects including a rural electrification project at Ejura municipality.
Information gathered shows that the Party Chairman of the area Mr. Kwabena officially communicated to the Former MP about the President’s visit but Hon. Pangabu flatly refused to show up. When the Chairman tried to reached him again, he told him he is “busy working on his farm”.
The Former MP has been unbalanced after he lost the 2012 parliamentary election and the subsequent appointment of Hon. Mohammed Bawa Braimah whom he accused on many occasion as causing his defeat.
Hon. Mohammed Pangabu, one of the service providers for SADA said he took that decision because he needed more time to concentrate on his businesses.
Party executives in the area even though doubt the ex legislator’s intention, they dare him to make it official.
