The storm that wreaked serious havoc in many suburbs, including Sagnarigu, Kpawomo, Taha, Kpambiawo, Sangnerugu and Nyohoni, did not spare the official residence of the Northern Regional Minister, Mohammed Muniru and his Deputy, A.B.A. Fuseini.
The Regional National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), led by its Director, Alhaji Silimboma, said his men were still on the ground assessing the extent of damage caused to both private and public properties.
He disclosed that in the interim, alternative accommodation would be arranged for the displaced persons while efforts were underway to source support from the government.
Some of the victims who spoke to DAILY GUIDE said they had lost several properties to the storm and appealed to the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly to come to their aid.

Electricity supply to parts of the metropolis had been cut as a number of electricity poles were pushed down by the storm.
The latest occurrence – which pulled down some giant trees and electricity pylons – comes in less than a fortnight after a similar one hit Daboya in the Gonja North district, displacing thousands of residents.
Victims who are yet to receive relief items had the roofs of their homes partially or completely ripped off – a situation the District Chief Executive, Seko Yahuza described as overwhelming.
According to him, the assembly would find it extremely difficult to contain the extent of damage to properties and appealed to the central government and benevolent organizations to come to the aid of the displaced persons.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Agency is predicting more rains and have issued warnings to persons living within lowland areas to vacate so as to avoid having their homes flooded.
