A Mallam at Kasoa, Budumbura in the Central Region has slammed those blaming the fall of the Ghanaian currency on the activities of dwarfs, juju and gods.
According to him, it is nigh time Ghanaians stopped acclaiming some unqualified spirit beings as the cause of their woes.
The National Women’s Organizer of the governing National Democratic Congress, Anita De Sosoo, stirred controversy this week when she attributed the steep depreciation of the cedi against the dollar and other major trading currencies to black magic or juju.
Citing the activities of black marketers, currency speculators and other people she describes as “saboteurs”, Ms Desooso, who was recently appointed a deputy National Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), claimed the juju men, who use dwarfs, stole such monies from banks and other financial institutions and inadvertently affected their stability.
‘Do we know where they get the money from? Do we know what they do with it? These dwarfs, the black magic, are what have made the cedi lose value,’ she declared.
But speaking in an interview with the host of ‘Ghana Decides’ Program on Okay Fm, Lawyer Tweneboah Koduah aka TK, Mallam Mahamadu Alhassan was amazed at how Ghanaians can so easily give credit to black magicians, gods and juju for any unfortunate incident. ace reality and implement policies in solving the economic hardship facing the country, rather than believing in spiritual intercession
To him, there are no economic woes in the country except that the current hardship being faced are as a result of the new economic measures initiated by a government which has been in power for less than two years.
“There are no economic woes in Ghana except that the new government in power is now putting economic measures in place, hence the hardship in the country. The government has a lot of projects on its shoulders and it is yet to deal with the economic issues. Ghanaians better exercise patience and not blame the economic woes on dwarfs, black magic and gods…..We rule a country with wisdom and knowledge to change the economic situation and not some spiritual entities somewhere. If the knowledge will work, wisdom will be applied and patience will be maintained then Ghana will progress,” he advised.
