Talk about rap music in Ghana and some names cannot be taken out of the discussion whether one wants it or not.

Some names in our music industry are just the highest authority when it comes to rap and nothing can beat such names to it.

But when on Multi TV: an Adom TV channel rap music was  mentioned, the rap Doctor Okyeame Quame became Okraku Mantey`s choice with a big question mark. The show was on the topic, who is a good rapper.Ace music producer and Ghana`s Simon Cowell has stated categorically that Okyeame Quame could be named as the best rapper in Ghana if he had a deep voice like some of the known rappers in the country. He made this revelation when members on the show Anansekrom were asked to name their best rappers in the country.

It was agreed by audience and the studio guests alike that for a musician to be named as a good rapper, the person should have style, rhythm and thought provoking messages which will be put together to declare a musician as a good rapper. Deep voice was the last thing on the agenda but Okraku Mantey feels that is why Okyeame Quame cannot be named as the best rapper in the country even though he claims he is the best rapper alive.

Meanwhile Zapp Mallet no matter how hard he was pushed to the wall to mention who his best rapper in Ghana is, being a business man that he has been for the past years in the music industry, he was reluctant until host of Anansekrom an entertainment discussion platform Okraku Mantey said bye-bye to him on the phone.

Veterean Gyedu Blay Ambolley also registered his supremacy on the show again when he pointed out that he started commercial rap music in Ghana and not Reggie Rockstone as some people believe it to be.

He added that a good rapper is that musician who can combine words with rhythm to make something meaningful. Anansekrom comes your way every Saturday between the hours of 10am-12mid day and repeated on Mondays at 4pm.
