Prime Minister Hisham Qandil along with the ministers of education and health arrived in Assiut to follow up the Assiut traffic accident, said Assiut Governor Yehiha Keshk.
At least 50 pupils along with a driver were killed and 13 others injured when a train rammed into a school bus in Manfalot city, Assuit, on Saturday morning.
Qandil ordered referring all those responsible for Assuit traffic accident to investigations. Transport Minister Rashad el-Metini placed his resignation at the disposal of President Mohamed Morsi, a Cabinet statement said on Saturday.
Qandil also extended condolences to the families of the victims over this tragic accident.
